She reached her highest WTA singles ranking of No. 164 on November 3, 2014 and her highest doubles ranking of No. 7 on March 19, 2018. Gabriela Dabrowski (born April 1, 1992 in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada) is a Canadian professional tennis player. She reached a career-high WTA singles ranking of No. 164 on November 3, 2014 and a career-high WTA doubles ranking of No. 4 on July 11, 2022.

At the beginning of 2006, Dabrowski became the first Canadian to win Les Petits As, one of the most prestigious 14 and under tournaments in the world. She also won the under-18 Orange Bowl in 2009, a Grade A tournament on the junior circuit, where she defeated top-seeded Kristina Mladenovic. She was the first Canadian to capture the title since Carling Bassett-Seguso did it as a 15-year-old in 1982. At the junior event of the 2010 Australian Open, Dabrowski was a runner-up in doubles with partner Tímea Babos. At the 2015 Pan American Games in Toronto, Ontario, Dabrowski won a gold medal in doubles with Carol Zhao and a silver medal in mixed doubles with Philip Bester. In 2017, she won her first WTA Premier Mandatory doubles title at the Miami Open with partner Xu Yifan. In 2018, she won the second biggest WTA doubles title of her career to date with a victory at the Premier 5 in Doha with Jeļena Ostapenko. With this win, she became only the fourth Canadian female player to reach the Top 10 in singles or doubles, with a debut at No. 8. At the 2018 French Open, Dabrowski reached the final in mixed doubles for the second straight year, this time with Pavić, but was not able to defend her title.

Dabrowski reached the mixed doubles final again with Pavić at the 2019 French Open, losing to the defending champions Latisha Chan and Ivan Dodig. Also in 2019 at the Wimbledon Championships, she reached her first Grand Slam final in doubles, but lost to Hsieh Su-wei and Barbora Strýcová along with partner Xu Yifan. In 2023, she became the first Canadian woman to win a senior Grand Slam doubles title, claiming the victory at the US Open with Erin Routliffe.

Biography

Also in 2017, she won the French Open mixed doubles title with Rohan Bopanna, becoming the first Canadian woman to win a senior Grand Slam title. In 2018, she won the second biggest WTA doubles title of her career to date with a victory at the Premier 5 in Doha with Jeļena Ostapenko. With this win, she became only the fourth Canadian female player to reach the Top 10 in singles or doubles, with a debut at No. 8. She also won her second Grand Slam title at the 2018 Australian Open, winning with Mate Pavić in mixed doubles.

Notes

 • 1 The first WTA 1000 event of the year (then a WTA Premier 5) has switched back and forth between the Dubai Tennis Championships and the Qatar Ladies Open beginning in 2009. Dubai was classified as a WTA Premier 5 event from 2009–2011 before being succeeded by Doha for the 2012–2014 period. From 2015 to 2023, the two tournaments alternated between WTA Premier 5 and Premier status every year.
 • 2 The total overall W–L record showed in this table is the official one from the WTA. Wins that should have been included and were not counted in this W–L record : 2 in 2023 (BJK Cup Finals; Hard; November).
 • NB The tournament in Cincinnati (then a WTA Premier 5) was played in New York City, the French Open was played in September and after the US Open, the Italian Open was also played in September and after the tournament in New York City/Cincinnati (then a WTA Premier 5), and the 2020 Olympic Games were postponed to 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020.
 • NB The WTA 1000 tournament in Indian Wells was played in October and after the tournament in Cincinnati due to the COVID-19 pandemic in 2021.
