'''Sonya Jeyaseelan''' (born April 24, 1976 in New Westminster, British Columbia, Canada) is a Canadian former professional tennis player. She currently resides in Toronto, Ontario. Her highest WTA singles ranking is No. 48, which she reached on December 4, 2000. Her career-high in doubles is No. 40, set on October 16, 2000. In 1994, she reached the final of the junior French Open. In 1996, she reached the quarterfinals in doubles at the US Open with compatriot [[Rene Simpson]]. In 1998, she advanced to her first and only WTA singles final, losing to Paola Suárez in Bogotá, Colombia. She has won two WTA doubles titles, both of them in Strasbourg (in 2000 and 2003). She also reached the doubles final in Palermo, Italy in 1999. In 1996, she reached the quarterfinals in doubles at the US Open. She retired in 2004. Jeyaseelan was inducted into the Canadian Tennis Hall of Fame in 2011.
