Biography

Réjean Genois (born December 30, 1952 in Québec City, Québec, Canada) is a Canadian former professional tennis player. His career-high ranking of world No. 89, set on July 31, 1978, was the highest ranking for a Canadian until Glenn Michibata reached world No. 79 in 1984. Genois played tennis at Florida State University from 1972 until 1974. He has won three ATP Challenger doubles titles, in 1978 in Shreveport, United States and in Asheville, United States, and in 1980 in San Luis Potosí, Mexico. In 1978, he reached the third round in singles at the US Open. He retired in 1982 and was inducted into the Canadian Tennis Hall of Fame in 1999. Genois is the current president of Tennis Québec.
